Synuclav tablets for dogs and cats are for the treatment of the infections caused by beta-lactamase producing strains of bacteria sensitive to amoxicillin in combination with clavulanic acid.

Description

Synuclav tablets are for the treatment of the following infections caused by beta-lactamase producing strains of bacteria, sensitive to amoxicillin in combination with clavulanic acid: Skin infections (including superficial and deep pyodermas) caused by susceptible Staphylococci, urinary tract infections casued by susceptible Staphylococci or Escherichia Coli, respiratory infections caused by susceptible Staphylococci, Enteritis caused by susceptible Escherichia Coli.

It is recommended to carry out suitable tests for sensitivity testing when initiating the treatment. The treatment should only proceed if sensitivity is proven to the combination.

 

*Synuclav 50mg tablets for cats and dogs are for oral administration to cats and dogs. Each Synuclav 50mg tablet contains Amoxicillin as Amoxicillin Trihydrate 40mg and Clavulanic Acid as Potassium Clavulanate 10mg. Do not use in rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters or gerbils. Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to penicillin or other substances of the betalactam group.

 

*Synuclav 250mg tablets for dogs are for oral administration to dogs. Each Synuclav 250mg tablet contains Amoxicillin as Amoxicillin Trihydrate 200mg and Clavulanic Acid as Potassium Clavulanate 50mg. Do not use in rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters or gerbils. Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to penicillin or other substances of the betalactam group.

 

*Synuclav 500mg tablets for dogs are for oral administration to dogs. Each Synuclav 500mg tablet contains Amoxicillin as Amoxicillin Trihydrate 400mg and Clavulanic Acid as Potassium Clavulanate 100mg. Do not use in rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters or gerbils. Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to penicillin or other substances of the betalactam group.

 

Do not use in animals with serious dysfunction of the kidneys accompanied by anuria or oliguria.

Do not use where resistance to the combination is known to occur.

Do not administer to horses and ruminating animals.

*Synuclav (previously Clavapet)

Directions

Administration is by the oral route, the tablets may be crushed and added to a little food.

Dosage rate: 12.5mg combined actives/kg bodyweight twice daily.

 

*Synuclav 50mg tablets – The recommended dose of 12.5mg per kg bodyweight is equivalent to one 50mg tablet per 4kg bodyweight

*Synuclav 250mg tablets – The recommended dose of 12.5mg per kg bodyweight is equivalent to one 250mg tablet per 20kg bodyweight.

*Synuclav 500mg tablets – The recommended dose of 12.5mg per kg bodyweight is equivalent to one 500mg tablet per 40kg bodyweight.

 

Do not store above 25 °C.

Store in a dry place.

Any halved tablet should be returned to the open blister and used within one day.

Any unused product or waste material should be disposed of in accordance with national requirements.

*Synuclav 250mg tablets for dogs – Each Clavapet 250mg tablet contains Amoxicillin as Amoxicillin Trihydrate 200mg and Clavulanic Acid as Potassium Clavulanate 50mg.

 

*Synuclav 500mg tablets for dogs – Each Synuclav 500mg tablet contains Amoxicillin as Amoxicillin Trihydrate 400mg and Clavulanic Acid as Potassium Clavulanate 100mg.
